The Fey-Sci Podcast is here!
One of the great things about academia is the freedom in terms of defining our own working hours. Together with the almost obligatory tradition of Swedish fika (coffee breaks) and a research building with many friends around, this resulted in many, many discussions about science, the community and implications of our work.
At some point, Chris Wood and I decided to have some of these conversations in a slightly more structured (but unscripted) fashion as a podcast. Other people seemed interested in joining in as well, so I decided to do a little spin-off as a podcast where I discuss a certain topic with one or two friends. We want to keep the format as informal as possible for a number of reasons. Most importantly, I think science lacks an informal discourse where people can say what they think without having to provide references right away. This enables to interact with a larger part of the community and especially also non-scientists. Also it allows us to quickly find a topic and record our thoughts and discussions about it without a lot of planning, especially next to work and over a long distance.
